COMMITTEE SECTION (EWCY&S)

The Department-related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Education, Women, Children, Youth and Sports has taken up for examination and consideration the subject “Reforms in the Content and Design of School Text Books” with focus on the following:-

a. Removing references to un-historical facts and distortions about our national heroes from the text books;

b. Ensuring equal or proportionate references to all periods of Indian History;

c. Highlighting the role of great historic women heroes, including Gargi, Maitreyi, or rulers like Rani of Jhansi, Rani Channamma, Chand Bibi, Zalkari Bai etc.

2. Students, Teachers and other experts, across the country, may give their specific suggestions on the subject, either in English or Hindi through e-mail at rsc_hrd@sansad.nic.in latest by Friday, the 30th April, 2021.

– The letter from committee is attached below.

– All aware Indians have always felt that our text books show distorted history with bias against glory of India and Hindus.

– This is a golden opportunity for us to make our contribution.

– सभी जागरूक भारतीयों ने अनुभव किया है कि अपनी इतिहास पुस्तकों में वर्णित अनेक प्रसंग विकृत हैं, तथा उनमें भारत तथा हिंदुओं की श्रेष्ठता के प्रति विद्वेष है।

– पुस्तकों में सुधार हेतु अपने योगदान का यह स्वर्णिम अवसर है।

१. राष्ट्र नायकों / नायिकाओं के बारे में विकृतियों एवं असिद्ध विंदुओं को हटाना।

२. इतिहास के सभी युगों / कालों को उचित महत्व व स्थान देना। 

३. महानारियों के कार्यों का विशेष उल्लेख, यथा: गार्गी, मैत्रेयी, झाँसी रानी, चेन्नम्मा, चाँद बीवी, झलकारी बाई, आदि।

First of all Thanks for giving us to opportunity to submit our suggestions for correction in our text books. 

My suggestion is specific to the History reflected in our text books – 

1. Have thorough information on how Bharat was in charge of the current South East Asian countries ? 

2. Details about Pushyamitra Shung and his contribution in reinstating the Sanatan Dharm across the entire region. 

3. Have fact based information about Taj Mahal – Was it really the Taj Mahal as per what is reflected in our current text books OR Tejo Mahalay – a Shiva Temple. In case there is no fact based information – have both sides of the stories published in our books. 

4. Have fact based information about Kutub Minar in Delhi ? Who built it and when and why were the Murtis of revered Hindu Gods and Goddesses were destructed. 

5. Humayun Tomb Area – How does that relate to Indraprasth Mahal of Mahabharat time. 

6. Give through details about our Kings we have been proud of  like – Maharana Pratap, Shivaji etc. 

7. Details about ‘Pushyamitra Shung’ and his contribution in reinstating the Sanatan Dharm across the entire region.

भारत का अतीत हमारी गौरवशाली समृद्ध परम्पराओं, ज्ञान की अद्भुत निधियों का गवाह रहा है | 

ऋषि मुनियों के द्वारा प्रतिपादित विशिष्ट सिद्धांत हों अथवा आज के प्रचिलित वैज्ञानिक खोज हों |

मेरा ये सुझाव होगा कि इतिहास की पाठ्य पुस्तकों में 

– ज्ञान विज्ञान के क्षेत्र में भारतवर्ष के राजाओं के योगदान को इस तरह से उल्लिखित किया जाना चाहिए जिससे हम और हमारी सन्तान ये गर्व कर सकें कि हमारे पूर्वज, ऋषि मुनियों के द्वारा ज्ञान विज्ञान के क्षेत्र में वाकई बहुत योगदान किया गया है |

-उदहारण के रूप में ,जन्तर मन्तर वेधशाला खगोलशास्त्र के क्षेत्र में एक उत्कृष्ट नमूना है जिसके बारे में हमारे बच्चों को जिज्ञासा जाग्रत होनी चाहिये न कि केवल दिल्ली अथवा जयपुर भ्रमण की स्मृति के रूप में |

-मुग़ल सम्राट अकबर अथवा टीपू सुल्तान बहुत महान शासक थे किन्तु ये अधूरी बात है , उनकी क्रूरता और अत्याचारों के बारे में शायद “जानबूझ के ” पर्दा डाला गया है | पाठ्य पुस्तकों में इस बारे में भी जिक्र होना चाहिए |

इस समबन्ध में मेरी ये पहली मेल है | यदि अवसर मिलेगा तो आगे भी अपने सुझाव भेजता रहूँगा |
